Brian P. McCafferty has over fifteen years of experience in complex commercial litigation, class action litigation and employment matters. He practices nationally and specializes in False Claims Act litigation, class action and employment litigation, and representation of tax whistleblowers before the IRS Tax Whistleblowers Office.

Mr. McCafferty served as co-counsel in the Oil Royalties False Claims Act litigation which resulted in the federal government recovering hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars from most of the major oil companies. He has also represented whistleblowers in numerous other False Claims Act cases involving defense contractor and Medicare fraud, and he continues to represent whistleblowers in numerous ongoing tax, employment, and false claims act matters.

Prior to founding Kenney & McCafferty and acting as its Managing Partner, Mr. McCafferty was the Managing Partner of the Philadelphia Office of Texas-based class action firm Provost Umphrey, LLP. Mr. McCafferty received his law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1992 and his Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Studies from the University of Notre Dame in 1989. 

Mr. McCafferty is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia jurisdictions; he is also admitted to practice in the following federal courts:

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. McCafferty served as a Legal Assistant to the Honorable James Gardner Colins, formerly the President Judge of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.
